Family: Inoviridae
Genus: Parhipatevirus
Distinguishing features
The only species in the genus, Ralstonia virus PE226, is known from phage isolated from plant rhizosphere using Ralstonia solanacearum as a host. Ralstonia phage PE226 has a genome of 5,475 bases (61.7% G+C) that encodes 9 proteins and is able to form clear plaques. Virions have an average length of 1,050 ± 200 nm and a width of 6–9 nm (Murugaiyan et al., 2011).

Biology
Members of the genus infect Ralstonia solanacearum.
Species demarcation criteria
There is only one species in the genus. Members of additional species will be >5% different in the DNA sequence of their genomes as assessed using the BLASTn algorithm.
